The Concept of Event Monitoring

Security guard dodo concept

With Event Monitoring solutions from Pointer, you can streamline your on-site staff.

Remotely monitored Video is now an effective alternative to on site security guarding presence, and undoubtedly it presents an effective and economic solution where a premises requires security and high value items need to be protected at all times.

We all understand the business case

With IP, you can have good quality Video, Audio and Control over the Network to the Event Monitoring Centre from any location.

* Network local & remote locations

* View live video anywhere on the network

* Record it anywhere on network

* Play back anywhere on network

* Control anywhere on network

What Considerations do I need to make?

In order to attain police response for your remotely monitored Video system, you'll need to ensure you go with a company qualified to install to BS8418. Assuming it is, Event Monitoring Centre personnel can confirm that the activation is genuine by viewing CCTV images and alerting the Police, now that URNs are available for these systems. This entitles them to a Level 1 response, which is effectively immediate, whereas with non-compliant systems, no police response is normally forthcoming.

The insistence on only BS 8418-compliant systems being eligible should pay dividends - making a significant reduction in false alarm rates a realistic prospect.

But why wait for an alarm when we can prevent as well as detect at a much earlier point?

Pointer's Event Monitoring Centre can identify:

* Congestion detection

* Intelligent Motion detection

* Abandoned Object detection

* Counter Flow

* Virtual Tripwire

* Shape-based detection

* Theft detection

* Object tracking

Forewarned is Forearmed.
