JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

POSITION: ONE YEAR FIXED CONTRACT – MATERNITY COVER       

REPORTING TO: FINANCIAL DIRECTOR

LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE                                                          

CLOSING DATE: 30^TH JUNE, 2010

OVERVIEW:

To process all paperwork in relation to the Purchase Ledger, the position is responsible for all purchase invoice and payment processes and dealing with suppliers and reports to the Financial Director. Pointer has various regional branches; the Head Office and administration is based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of six within a busy accounts department

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Log and distribute invoices.

• Match invoices to orders, physically and on screen.

• Code and input invoices.

• Select and process payments to suppliers.

• Open and maintain supplier accounts

• Deal with supplier request for payments and queries

• Reconcile statements

• Write cheques for manual payments.

• Liaise with Managers in all areas of the company

• Assist other accounts staff where required

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• PC Literate – competent in accounting software, experience of Pegasus Opera II preferred although full training will be provided

• Competent in Microsoft Office packages

• Experience in operating the purchase ledger within a busy accounts department
