Engineering Supervisor in the Midlands

JOB TITLE:                   ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR

REPORTING TO:          ENGINEERING MANAGER      

LOCATION:                   MIDLANDS

HOURS:                        0830AM – 5PM

 

Role Purpose

To support the Engineering Manager, manage a team in the technical execution and co-ordination of a wide range of Systems integrated contracts with safe and timely delivery, co-ordinating and managing the day to day team activities, supervising installation and commissioning works.  To provide customers with a service in accordance with the Company’s values and published standards and to conform to all relevant British Standards

Role Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Deliver excellent Customer Service/relationship at all times
  • Present a professional image through high standards of personal appearance including Company vehicle
  • Communicate with customers and agree works required.
  • Communicate with Customers to agree service and routine maintenance schedules
  • Identify opportunities for new business works and system enhancements
  • Charge Customers correctly in line with the contract for work undertaken both RMV/service calls and upgrades.
  • Will be courteous and polite in any communications with the customer, and will deal with customer complaints promptly and efficiently.

Engineering Supervisor Core duties

  • Supervise engineering in own area.
  • Agree resource requirements with General manager
  • Update/plan works on schedules with General manager
  • Ensure engineers have up to date RMV schedules within their area
  • Communicate with service desk daily controlling reactive calls
  • Ensure engineers are equipped to carry out tasks, (H&S, certificates, materials)
  • Update General manager on going works carried out weekly basis
  • Organise RAMS for works ensuring staff read and adhere to site specific RAMS.
  • Organise works with clients communicating effectively.
  • Order material as and when required controlling costs.
  • Assist admin with awaiting parts for reactive calls
  • Control stock usage.
  • Responsible for engineer’s car stock
  • Ensure Update stock levels utilising systems in place and replacement sheets
  • Visit site on a regular basis and update client on works progress
  • Update General manager on a daily/weekly basis of works progress
  • Ensure within your area all technical/health and safety audits are completed and ready for inspections, liaising with compliance manager.

Documentation

  • All engineering documentation handed in timeously (Siclops updated)
  • Update stock sheets
  • Submit any audits to compliance manager to comply with company procedures and current industry standards.
  • RAMS produced for any site-specific task submitted to clients and compliance manager
  • Technical/Health and safety audits submitted to compliance manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience of managing a busy team in a service environment
  • A relevant security qualification or equivalent in the electrical industry
  • Current full driving licence
