We recently celebrated National Apprenticeship Week 2023 by taking our hardworking apprentices out for a special lunch at DiMaggio’s. The annual ‘Apprentice’s Lunch’ is a great opportunity for us to recognise the dedication and effort that our apprentices put into their training.

We have an award-winning in-house apprenticeship training programme that’s SQA approved, and we’re incredibly proud of our apprentices and everything they achieve. In fact, 36% of our colleagues started as apprentices, and 20% of those colleagues are now in senior job roles with us. 

During their apprenticeship, our apprentices receive one on one support from our dedicated Learning and Development Officer at our own training centre. They also receive training from our suppliers on their specific products, as well as ‘on the job’ experience that our engineers provide for them on a day to day basis. Most of our apprentices stay with us after their apprenticeship programme and enter a full-time job at Pointer.
