Privacy Impact Assessments

The General Data Protection Act, introduced to the EU on 25th May 2018, is the most important change to data privacy regulations in 20 years.

GDPR brought about a huge overhaul of the way that information was managed and how it was stored and protected. With that it has also given the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) the authority to impose fines for any company seen to be breaching GDPR.

Here at Pointer, we want to keep our customers informed of how GDPR may affect their use of video surveillance systems and other security measures. We provide expert advice on how to implement a security system that will protect their business without compromising their GDPR Compliance. As a result of GDPR, we have introduced Privacy Impact Assessments to our services. During a Privacy Impact Assessment, one of our experienced surveyors will check all of the elements of your security system and compare how it aligns with GDPR. They will create an accurate report which will highlight any possible issues of non compliance and we will use this assessment to provide suggestions on how to fix any possible issues that have been identified.

We can also offer Privacy Impact Assessments as part of our support package, creating regular reports to account for any changes to the environment that could affect your security system compliance.

If you would like to know more about our Privacy Impact Assessments and how they could help you then Contact Us. We also have more information on our Whitepaper below about GDPR and Video Systems.
